About Eco-friendly Reusable SKOY Cloths

“2.5 million tons – The amount of paper towels filling our landfills from regular tasks like cleaning kitchens.“

If this number sounds alarming to you, you are not alone. When moms Michelle and Karen learned of this number, they knew that there was a need for an environmentally-friendly cleaning cloth. Rather than using a sponge or many paper towels in the kitchen, the SKOY cloth provides a multi-use and biodegradable option.

What is the SKOY cloth made from?

SKOY cloths are made from natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp. Because they are 100% biodegradable, they breakdown within 5 weeks after disposal.

They are also chlorine-free, unbleached, and made with water-based colors and inks.

How long do SKOY cleaning cloths last?

The SKOY cloth is designed to be machine and dryer safe.

Depending on how harsh your cleaning products are and what surfaces you have used it on, your SKOY cloth could last a year.

With normal detergent, a SKOY cloth will last approximately 50 wash cycles.

Our SKOY Cloth Review

I used a SKOY cloth to clean my counter top and stainless steel sink. The cloth had little textured shapes on one side that helped with scrubbing some difficult spots. I also tried it on my flattop stove. Recently when taking meatloaf out of the oven, I forgot that one of the burners was still hot. Not only did I accidentally melt a tag attached to a potholder, but I also managed to spill sauce on the hot burner. I put the cloth to the test to see how well it would work when scrubbing the stain on the stove. Not only did it help remove some of the stain, it also did not appear to pull apart.

These are a fabulous idea. We have gone from using paper towels to what we call “bar towels” and we then run a bleach load once a week to clean all of them and then reuse them. They have taken our paper towel usage from almost one a day down to one roll a week-10 days. My pocket book loves it! I will definitely check this kind out as well 🙂 Thanks for the info!

According to EPA USA generates 250 million tons of trash per year, of which 28.5% was paper. That is more than 70 million tons of paper waste per year! WOW, just WOW! We have been using “unpaper towels for years now and I refuse to buy paper towels!

Less paper waste reduces greenhouse gases in multiple ways (see EPA life cycle of materials):
    a) reduces transportation required to haul goods/packages,
    b) reduces energy needed to make goods/packages,
    c) reduces fuel consumed in hauling waste to landfill, and
    d) reduces methane in landfill from decomposing paper.

I learned that their factory uses recycled water so that way nothing is wasted. It’s nice to have these cloths instead of all the scott towels that takes yrs to disappear.I’m looking for another word but I can’t think of it. Wonderful menopausel moment.Lol!
It’s also important to make sure the cloth is wet when put into microwave so a fire doesn’t start. I’d love to try these cloths. Thanks for the cool giveaway!
