Arctic Zero Frozen Desserts Review and Giveaway

If you were to look in our freezer at any given time, you will find a variety of ice cream and frozen desserts. Like many ice cream lovers, I will eagerly eat an entire pint and then feel guilty when I realize how much I ate in one sitting. For this reason, a low calorie alternative by Arctic Zero was a product line that I was interested in trying for a review. Arctic Zero entered the ice cream and novelty industry in order to introduce products that addressed the health concerns of millions of Americans. With an increasing number of children developing food allergies and many people searching for ways to keep their weight down, they introduced a protein-based soft serve ice cream called Carbawhey in 2002. Originally sold throughout select shops in California, they expanded their products in 2006 to include pre-packaged pints that could be sold throughout the US.

About Arctic Zero Frozen Desserts

Today Arctic Zero provides frozen desserts that contain natural, organic, and non-GMO ingredients. Rather than using Splenda, the sweetener is a blend of organic cane sugar and monk fruit concentrate. Monk fruit is a natural, low-calorie alternative to sugar that is made from a melon.

Arctic Zone Frozen Desserts Review

We decided to try our selection of desserts with friends and family during our 4th of July celebration. We were able to try each of their pint size flavors: chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, coffee, cookies and cream, mint chocolate cookie, strawberry, vanilla maple, and pumpkin spice.
Arctic Zero Pints
Based on some of the feedback we received, we felt that it’s important to emphasize that Arctic Zero is an alternative to ice cream. As they state, it’s a “protein shake in ice cream form for those who are lactose intolerant and diabetic.” It’s not as sweet as regular ice cream. However, I found that this was a positive attribute because I didn’t have a sudden drop in energy shortly after eating it. The texture becomes creamier as it melts slightly, but it not as creamy as regular ice cream. The flavors do not have chunks of sweets such as cookies or mint chocolate. Because it doesn’t contain aspartame or Splenda, it does not have an unpleasant aftertaste. I normally don’t prefer vanilla ice cream, but I really liked the Maple Vanilla flavor. If you like coffee, you will probably enjoy the Coffee flavor because it’s fairly strong. Although the cookies and cream didn’t have crunchy cookie bits, it still tasted good. My least favorite was the Mint Chocolate Cookie. I think this is because I prefer mint chocolate pieces over the entire dessert being mint flavored.
Arctic Zero Bars
We also had the opportunity to try four flavors of the Arctic Zero bars – chocolate, vanilla, orange, and strawberry. The Vanilla flavor coated in chocolate is very good. Of each of the varieties we tried, I can see the Vanilla Bars becoming a regular item in our home. One of our friends suggested a good idea. She makes fruit smoothies for breakfast and thought that including Arctic Zone frozen desserts might be a good alternative to yogurt or ice cream. Because the Arctic Zero has 8 grams of fiber and 14 grams of whey protein, this would be a healthy choice.

Artic Zero Frozen Desserts

Arctic Zero is currently sold on Amazon and is available at major grocery store chains such as Whole Foods, Publix, Safeway, Kroger, and Giant. You can also visit them on Facebook or Twitter. If you’re looking for a low calorie frozen dessert or have someone in your family with a food allergy, you can have the chance to try Arctic Zero yourself. They are providing the readers of Our Virginia Home with a chance to win a prize pack! The prize pack will include 7 pints and 2 boxes of bars. Arctic Zero product samples for the purpose of a review. No monetary compensation was given to complete the review and only our honest opinions were expressed.
