When we sold our house last month, we left behind our Samsung appliances. We purchased the stainless steel appliances when we purchased the home in 2010 and were almost happy to leave them behind. See these happy little critters on the dryer? Their little paw prints made it a constant battle to keep the appliances clean.
At our new house, the washer and dryer are located in our pantry. The doorway to the pantry is only 25 inches wide, so we had to special order 24″ wide LG appliances. The models that we purchased from Sears are the LG 2.3 Cubic Ft. Compact-Front Load Washer (Model# WM1355HW) and LG 4.2 Cubic Ft. Electric Dryer (Model# DLEC855W).
Our dryer has a tank that collects water because it does not have a vent. We have to run smaller loads for bulky items like bedding and towels. The company that Matt works for washes his uniforms, so this cuts down on a lot of our weekly laundry. Our kitchen and pantry are right off the den, so we’re happy that the appliances are relatively quiet.
By the way, if you’re not a member of Shop Your Way Rewards, you may want to consider joining. It’s a point reward program for Sears and Kmart. We had a card and completely forgot about it because we usually go to Sears around Christmas time. You get points for your purchases and they can be redeemed towards future purchases. When reviewing forums (like SlickDeals), I learned that they also send occasional bonus points. Once you make it to higher levels such as VIP, you can get free items. You can also load coupons on your rewards card.
