Nomad Footwear Rubber Rain Boots Review

This summer I have ruined two pairs of shoes when working in our garden. The first pair was my only pair of tennis shoes that I wore while we spread manure throughout our garden. My second pair was an old pair of slip-ons that are now a permanent shade of orange from Virginia red clay. We have several pairs of shoes stacked by our kitchen door with dried mud. So you can imagine my excitement when I received a pair of rain boots for a review!

Black Paisley Puddles Rainboots

I wore my new pair of Nomad Black Paisley Puddle Rainboots into the garden this afternoon. I will have no hesitation about going into the garden after it rains. Rather than tracking mud around our kitchen, I can just rinse them off with the hose before coming inside.

I normally avoid our yard in the morning because of the dew, but now I can walk around without the insides of my shoes getting wet. I love the convenience of being able to just put them on and go.

This is actually the first pair of rain boots that I’ve ever had. Several times I’ve been stuck at outdoor events or waiting for the bus in the rain. It’s certainly not fun to have your feet soaking wet for hours. I was expecting that they would be heavy and awkward to walk in, but they are actually flexible and lightweight.

Black Paisley Rain Boots

I ordered a size that I felt would accommodate enough room for thick socks. Because the boots are not insulated, I wanted to make sure I had the option to keep my feet warm with winter socks. Although they are a little large, they still fit comfortably with regular socks. They sit a few inches below my knees and there’s enough room to tuck in my jeans. There is a strap on the side that can be adjusted for thicker pairs of jeans or for different calf sizes.

I love how my rain boots are unique! They have a lot of designs to pick from so you can find something that suits your personality and color preferences.

Once in the middle of nowhere I wrecked my car and had to walk for 2-3 hours in flip flops during a rain storm to get help. It was so sucky! lol

This summer, we were lucky enough to be able to go to Universal Studios in Florida for 4 days. The first day there, it rained like crazy and I wore flip flops. Uggh ..my feet kept slipping in and out of my shoes. Definitely not a great day for walking. Thank you for the chance.

We went camping one summer, the weather was so beautiful. The first day was great, but when we woke up the next morning, it was a morning sprinkle, no to bad. But while we were trying to make breakfast , there was a cloud burst. Nothing was saved, everything was absolutely drenched, our tent, our bags, our clothes, everything. Did I mention we hiked in,to where we were camping . Our Tennis shoes were useless. we would have been better off in flipflops,or barefoot.

Many times I’ve worn sandals out, and it ends up pouring down rain and I have to get my feet wet walking through the parking lot.

Just last week I dropped my daughter off for summer camp and it was pouring out. The parking lot didn’t have great drainage and we tried going around the huge puddles but ended up jumping through them and our shoes and feet were then soaked the entire day.

Many many times but the worst is when we slid off of a gravel road and had to climb out of the ditch and walk to the nearest farmhouse- it was pouring rain and mud past our ankles!

Just a few weeks ago I walked to the library then came out to a heavy down pour. I had no rain coat or umbrella and flip flops on my feet so had to go squelch my way home.

Whenever I am at work and I do not watch the weather channel. It rains and I have on flip flops, instead of rain boots.

I used to live in New York City, and had to tramp through rain puddles in regular shoes on many occasions. Wet feet suck!

At the airport going to meet my current husband for the first time. There was a torrential downpour and I was dressed in business attire which included a nice pair of shoes, but not rain shoes in the slightest bit. At the time I did not know this would be my husband, but apparently he didn’t mind the cold, wet feet…no cold feet at the wedding though.

I was out for a walk with my kids once and ended up stranded by a large puddle/pond from the rain. I had to either retrace my steps or wade through…I carried my kids and waded through. And when we got home, I through out my tennies! So much for a fun walk…

Two years ago I was on a guided hike in the Adirondacks. I started the hike with perfectly adequate boots. As soon as we left the summit of Mt. Marshal (a non-marked bushwack to the top), my right boot completely fell apart. It was an agonizing 7.5 mile walk back to the Loj but with the help of some duct tape, I made it.

When visiting Tasmania Australia I wore summer shoes and clothes but it was winter there. Oops, forgot to factor in the difference in seasons between northern and southern hemisphere. Bought some great wool clothing, socks and shoes though.
