Whitley’s “Home Cooked” Virginia Peanuts Review

Offering Virginia grown peanuts for 25 years, Whitley’s Peanut Factory produces hand-cooked and roasted peanuts. They have been recognized by the National Association for Specialty Food Trade as a Finalist in the Outstanding Hors D’oeuvres or Snack Food category. As a member of the Virginia’s Finest Trademark Program, they are also listed as a company that promotes Virginia manufacturing and agriculture. Virginia’s Finest only recognizes products that meet or exceed quality standards. Each company must be approved by a committee that reviews packaging and labels to ensure products meet state and federal regulations.

Our Virginia Home had the opportunity to try “Home Cooked” Virginia Peanuts. As they describe in their catalog, they are crunchy and extra large. In addition to being stored in a decorative tin, they are also vacuumed sealed to preserve freshness. We served our tin of peanuts as a snack before our 4th of July dinner and several of our friends had to keep coming back to the tin for more.

Peanuts are a good source of monounsaturated fats and also have vitamin E, niacin, folate, protein, and manganese. Before writing my review, I researched the health benefits of peanuts and learned that they even contain more antioxidants than blackberries and strawberries.

Although the peanuts are very tasty on their own, Whitley’s also offers many varieties of candies and nut mixes.

Whitley’s also has Virginia Country Ham. The ham pictured arrives ready to serve with no additional cooking needed.

If you have someone in mind that loves peanuts, candies, and other varieties of nuts, you may want to consider purchasing the Variety Club Plan. The one year plan includes a different gift that is shipped monthly.

      Hi Patty,

I like the fact that they have a variety of sizes available, too. You can find something no matter what your prize range is for a gift. Oh, and the ham does look tasty, doesn’t it?
