GIANT Microbes Summer Review

GIANTmicrobes makes disease-causing microbes look cute and cuddly. This is one reason why parents, teachers, and pediatricians like using their products to teach kids about organisms that can make them feel bad. For example, Stomach Ache and Common Cold are two popular GIANTmicrobes used for education. Each microbe comes with a card that includes a photo of the real microbe and information about its effects and treatments.

Giant Microbes Education

Although very popular for educational purposes, the line of plush giant microbes are also popular with adults. They provide an opportunity to make microbial illnesses humorous. In June, I gave Matt a plush MRSA Superbug because he loves to tell the story about his experience with it while in the Marines.

Giantmicrobes Minnow

For Summer 2012, GIANTmicrobes has introduced several new plush microbes including Minnow, Rotavirus, and Meningitis.

We received Minnow for the purpose of a product review. It looks very cute! The fins are translucent and have rainbow colors as you move it. The information card provided facts about minnows that were new to me. For example, I did not know that minnows release chemicals when they’re afraid.
