    The top table is the one I have been wanting for a long time! It’s perfect for cookware and often-used item storgae underneath and I love the look. Time to break out the saw and head to lowes …..

    those are soooo beautiful!! i’d love a homemade table but am totally incompetent when it comes to those things. my husband is very good so maybe i could persuade him to make me a small table to start with.

    Hey! just an idea- my father found an old treadle sewing machine in bad shape and made a thick pine top for it. the base is substantial enough to hold a large top. it was large enough to seat 4/6. He took off the sewing machine cab- ( it may have already been removed.) My mothers neighbor just did the same – but he did not take off the wooden cab- and put a large marble top on it… again easily seats 4. ( I got the marble top– and once settled will take off wooden cab.-but keep marble top) we did the same with the wrought iron base of another sewing machine- but this one is only 20 inches high- so it is a coffee table- we left the treadles on all… makes nice conversation piece.
