Over the past couple of years, we’ve had a lot of deep snowfalls. It would be helpful to have protection on my legs when walking through wet or snow-covered areas. During warmer months, I want my legs covered so I can minimize the risk of ticks getting on me.
I requested a pair of Winis Breathable Gaiters for review. Made of durable oxford cloth, the gaiters are breathable and waterproof. Gaiters that are close to knee height are best for walking through snow or wet vegetation.
On the bottom, there are adjustable straps that hook under boots. I found that they were too loose when wearing tennis shoes but fit well over Matt’s boots. I am 5′ 1″ so the height of the gaiters fell just under my knees. To put them on, you just wrap them around your leg while keeping your foot on the strap. A velcro section from top to bottom opens so that you can fit the gaiters over your pants and wrap them as tightly or loosely as you’d like.
The adjustable cinch at the top provides a snug fit. There is also a metal clip that attaches to your laces to keep the gaiters in place over your boots.
Matt also tried on the Winis Breathable Gaiters. He plans to use them while doing yardwork or clearing snow from our vehicles.
